Sadie Gunnink’s recent patent experience designing Rise Evolved helped inspire others in our network. Following Sadie’s successful patent application, Sarah Maestrales later developed a content management ecosystem designed to support the future of learning technologies. Frustrated by the growing disconnect between education and technology in the EdTech sector, Sarah set out to create a system that places educational quality and learning science back at the center of EdTech development. Sadie, in turn, helped guide her through the process of documenting a patent of her own.

After extensive study of generative AI performance across hundreds of topics spanning 11 academic subjects, Sarah developed a deep understanding of both the strengths and limitations of AI systems in educational environments. The EduMetrix Ecosystem was designed to leverage those strengths while accounting for their weaknesses. Positioned at the intersection of learning science, psychometrics, and strategic AI implementation, the platform is being developed as a tool to support educators both inside and outside the classroom.
